Dr. Shad Dowlatshahi is a Professor of Supply Chain and Operations Management at the University of Missouri Kansas City. He has developed and taught a variety of Operations Management and Supply Chain courses. He holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from The University of Iowa. He also has an MBA and an MS degree in Industrial Engineering. Professor Dowlatshahi’s career spans several years of educational administration, business, and industrial experience from which he has gained international business and effective managerial experience. Shad Dowlatshahi has been active in civic and professional organizations throughout his life. Professor Dowlatshahi was the sole recipient of the Chancellor's Outstanding Teaching Award given by the University of Texas System. He has also received several other prestigious teaching awards throughout his teaching career. He has been able to establish good rapport with his students and teach complicated subjects.
He has over 120 journal articles, books, book chapters, and proceedings published in refereed academic and professional outlets. He has presented and published extensively in the national conferences. Shad has also served as a member of the editorial board and/or referee for a number of academic and professional journals.
